The Altar Society is the unseen group of volunteers who make sure the altar and sacristy are neat, clean and pleasing to the eye. They launder and change the altar cloths, keep fresh flowers on the altars, decorate the church for special liturgical celebrations and tidy up the sacristy. Comfort Food
Comfort Food is a service ministry to provide meals to members of our parish community when they experience a temporary need due to hospital stay, recovering at home after illness or surgery, new baby in the family, or medical treatment. This ministry depends upon volunteer cooks who take turns providing one meal per day for the family or individual. Meals do not have to be gourmet. Wholesome food, prepared in spirit of caring is what we hope to deliver. To request Comfort Food for yourself or to refer a member, call Jean Frechette at (603) 924-4146. If you would like to be on the list of volunteer cooks, please give Jean a call.
Helping Hands Ministry
The volunteers of Helping Hands provide support to bereaved families by providing a light luncheon of sandwiches, desserts and drinks to be served in the church hall following the funeral Mass. We are looking for more volunteers for this ministry. For more information please contact Joyce Schmidt at (603) 924-1980.
Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is an organization dedicated to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism, and is open to all men of the parish. The Knights meet monthly on the second Wednesday of the month in the Parish Hall. Each year they provide the honor guard at Confirmation. The Knights host and prepare a special St. Patrick’s Day dinner and provide the barbequing at the annual parish picnic in September. They also provide help in special groundskeeping projects. For more information contact Mike Barrett at 978-419-1192.
Guild Crafts - Prayer Shawls Ministry
Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have combined into a powerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into every shawl. The recipients are blessed as are those who meet in fellowship to share their time and talents. The Prayer Shawls group has begun meeting at the same time as the Women's Guild Crafts group, and are also working on projects at home.
The Women’s Guild meetings provide for great social interaction for women of the parish in addition to providing informative programs for the members. Their Mission Statement is: “We share the responsibility of putting our faith in action through prayer, moral support and helping hands when called upon by our parish family and pastor.”
Their major fund-raising activity is the Holiday Stroll in November. Guild Members meet regularly to work on the crafts sold at the Stroll. The Guild holds receptions for First Communion and Confirmation classes in May and along with the Knights, sponsor an annual commencement breakfast for graduating seniors. They also help with meals for the temporarily homebound. The Guild facilitates a prayer chain open to the whole parish for prayers. Each December, the Guild sponsors the American Red Cross Blood Drive.
